There are people who need our help and that should be our reward..
But there are traveling expenses and hotels and food and people giving up time that will lose money unless reimbursed.
To make a difference and give charitably we need a large group
If I JUST invited Masons to come so we can contribute to the Medical Research or Child ID, there might be only a hundred people coming.
If I invited the Marine Corps Leagues and Bike Riders as well as the other branches of service for the Veterans Hospitals we might get another hundred

Dear Friends and students

This is the 50th year of the LEGEND starting in 1960 officially

I want to make this a major event since I may not be there for the 75th year
I want to include important people in my life as well as make the event more than just an award ceremoney. I want to take some of the monies and contribute to Medical research to help cure those who are now suffering and may wsuffer in the future. My wife is one of those people.
 

I am writing for a blog called HUB PAGES.
 
They let you continue to write ONLY if you have an audience that wishes to read what you say.
 
Of the THOUSANDS of students worldwide, and family, friends in personal life and business (Architecture and construction) I have only 17 "FANS" who read my posts

Here is a pic of several students doing the same move of the same kata!
You can clearly see that they are all not the same.
You may look at the older or higher ranking person in the group, and figure that they must be correct!
Most of the time this will be the case.
However! Each of us are an individual! We interpretate things differently.
Some by visiual. Some audible. and some by reading!
Because we learn differently, we cannot be expected to perform the same!

As I start my day wondering if the battle will be won, I think of all the lessons I have learned about life from my students who in fact are my teachers along with the "Streets"

"Who stands before my Gates?" the Sensei asks
"Sensei. It is I. (Name) who wish to enter the Legend as a (color or rank ) Belt"
"What says the Legend?" asks the sensei to the Legend members
"Ouss"
"Clap (to ask) and you shall enter" as the "Gates" which are made of Black Belts of a higher rank with arms extended to signify the Japanese Letter for "Gate" open smartly allowing the candidate to enter.

We were a great diverse pair for the Vermont Legend.
Keith would give the students a challenge with his towering strength and long reach. I with my timimg and distance wich accounted for my speed and focused power.
It was also fun to watch us go up against each other in tournaments!

We met the Legend of NYC for the first time!
In those days we worked out in Sensei Lenchuses livingroom, lawn and barn.

Our Dojo Brother Clifford Meth has been ill of late. We look foward to seeing him come back to full health and hope to see him in the 34th Street Dojo when we reopen in ther new year.
