My comment is about the basics of the "Art" which is honor and respect
Without either it is no longer an "art" but a rouge form of self indulgence.
Although we all slip at times and forget, we quickly resolve the conflict if we are magnanimous and considerate.
Sometimes we make mistakes not intensionally thinking that was what was meant when in fact it was far from the original concept.
To call your Sensei by his first name in a dojo is disrespectful.
To forget to bow is disrespectful.
To ignore the Sensei is disrespectful,
Lenchus Sensei said to me I have some one for you to fight. I am working with a young man named Carlos Ferrier who wants to become a professional kick boxer. Carlos was at the time the kick boxing instructor at the soho gym. He had recently entered the NY golden gloves and won (I was told) his weight division which was well over mine.
"The Legend was created so that each and every one who ever entered our doors would be remembered and never die
We are all about OUR Tradition and OUR History and OUR Stories...This is what makes US special and keeps us alive.
Contribute your memories and pictures because "Without you,. There is no Me (LEGEND)"
The stories are not JUST of Lenchus, but Frenchy, Babe, Bruce, Willie, Montalto, Bobby, Greco, the WORLD KNOWS These names CARL and Davy, Big Gary and Barry..Keep the Legend alive"
Lenchus
After many styles joined Lenchus such as Goju and Isshinryu and Shotokan, a new Mix was created along with the fighting spirit and heart of a US Marine. That style from a boxing champ and Karate Black Belt and street fighter became known as "The Legend"
Those that paved the way were
Bernard "Frenchy " Scarda
Frank "Pepi" Patti
Big Bill, Louis Jerome Beale
Sal "Mineo"
Big Gary
Dave Teitler
Bruce and Carmel "Babe " Sorrento
They were the beginnings
Hanshi Scarda is now the Power behind the Legend and Shihan Sorrento is the Moving Spirit and Flame
